THE PHOTOGRAPHER
LiXiang is a deep sky astrophotographer based in Switzerland, capturing the invisible structures of our universe from high-altitude locations across the Swiss Alps.

Every image is the result of hours — sometimes dozens of hours — of careful integration. Narrowband filters isolate specific wavelengths of ionized gas, revealing details invisible to the human eye. The work is a blend of technical precision and artistic vision, processed primarily in PixInsight with final adjustments in Photoshop.

The project began in 2024, driven by a fascination with what lies beyond the reach of ordinary perception. Each capture is a collaboration between optics, electronics, atmosphere, and patience.

PHILOSOPHY
The pursuit is not simply to take pretty pictures of the sky. It's about making the invisible visible — capturing photons that have traveled millions of years to reach a sensor on a Swiss mountainside.

Every choice in the workflow, from filter selection to processing algorithms, serves one goal: fidelity to the signal. The data tells the story. The processing reveals it.
